Chris Tavener is a satirical singer-songwriter, known for his comedic, witty lyrics and a vintage sound.
Having completed 351 performances in 2016 alone, Chris is one of the most hard-working musicians in the North West. His latest EP sold in the hundreds of copies and received acclaim from Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 Music who has played the tracks four times on national radio.
Originally from Northwich in Cheshire, Chris began writing and producing demo albums annually from age 17. He writes storytelling songs about the ironic comedy in everything from drunken romance, celebrity worship, football hooligans and small town problems.
In 2016, he took on a nationwide tour visiting 10 cities over 6 weeks, and at age 23, he released his popular EP “i’m sorrdy bi’m drunnk” at a sold out show in Manchester’s reputable ‘Night & Day Café’. The success of which led to a stint at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a second nationwide tour.
